I’m wild about nature, but my seed sowing skills are not stellar. For instance, I planted Texas Wildflowers this spring, but realized as they sprouted that I didn’t space them out enough. They were all growing on top of each other and fighting for the nutrients in their little bit of soil. (Thankfully, my dad taught me how to thin them out, so there are gonna be some survivors!)

It made me think of us humans and how we’re all growing in the same soil -- we each have same amount of God’s love available to us – all of it, forever. And unlike my flowers, we don’t have to fight for what’s already ours.

I see so many broken, struggling souls, trying just to live through another day. I see people finding lots of ways to distract themselves from the emptiness they feel. I have been there too. Not everyone is aware of or able to receive the immense, unconditional love God offers to every one of us, every day.  So many of us have been hurt so deeply that we have trouble trusting that it could really be true.

We need to be tender with each other, and patient, and grace-filled. We were all created with the same dust and breathed into with the same Life. Sometimes, our brothers and sisters (and ourselves!) need to be reminded that we already have everything we need to grow into the beautiful selves we were created to be. We don’t have to compare. We don’t have to prove that our tribe is more worthy. We don't have to be the ones with all the right answers.

We could just be the ones that say to the other flowers in our space, "Hey, it's gonna be okay. You are loved beyond imagining, and nothing will ever take that away."
